2022 Annual Service Plan
We are preparing our 2022 Annual Service Plan
Annual Service Plans (ASPs) identify how the TTC will serve customers in the coming year. They are focused on modifying and improving service for our customers, and refining previously identified service planning initiatives to address emerging and changing priorities.
Main priorities of the 2022 Annual Service Plan
The main priorities of the 2022 annual Service Plan will be:
- Network Optimization: continuing to optimize our network to match service capacity to ridership demand.
- Line 5 Surface Network Plan: modifying the bus network to support the opening of Line 5 Eglinton.
- Service Initiatives Supporting Ridership Recovery: implementing network changes in response to customer inquiries, existing and emerging travel patterns, and new developments in the city.
In addition to the three main priorities, we will continue to develop and implement the 20-point action plan, including the initiatives initially approved by the Board in the 5-Year Service Plan and updated in the 2021 Annual Service Plan to reflect the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2022 Annual Service Plan consultation process builds on the 5-Year Service Plan & 10-Year Outlook, in which we committed to consulting the public and stakeholders annually to inform the development of detailed Annual Service Plans.
In June and July 2021, we conducted consultations for the 2022 Annual Service Plan, including stakeholder meetings, a public survey outlining the proposed service changes, and community engagement through the Youth Ambassador Program.
In August-September 2021, we focused on sharing the proposed final recommendations for the 2022 Annual Service Plan, and how feedback from Round 1 informed the recommendations at our second round of stakeholder meetings.
Line 3 bus replacement service
The TTC Board approved the Line 3 Bus Replacement Study Update report at their September 15 meeting.
The Board approved the proposed corridor options for evaluation and the evaluation framework that will enable the development and assessment of routing alternatives. Routing alternatives will be the main subject of the next round of public consultations, which will launch again in October 2021. Next steps and the emerging direction for adaptive re-use of Line 3 infrastructure will also be presented in the next round of consultations.
