TTC subway signal upgrade this weekend
May 20, 2015
This weekend, on Sat., May 23 and Sun., May 24, there will be no service on Line 1 between Bloor and Lawrence stations as crews upgrade the Toronto Transit Commission’s 60 year-old signal system, as part of the TTC’s commitment to modernization. This necessary signal work will result in a more reliable service.
Frequent replacement buses will operate between Bloor and Lawrence stations. Wheel-Trans buses will be available to accommodate customers who use wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility aids.
The TTC will be adding additional bus service on the 124 Sunnybrook, which will operate from Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre to Lawrence West Station. The 52 Lawrence West route will turn back westbound at Lawrence West Station.
Alternate routes to the subway service on Line 1 include:
- 32 Eglinton West bus from Eglinton Station to Eglinton West Station
- 512 St Clair streetcar from St Clair Station to St Clair West Station
Regular subway service resumes on Mon., May 25, at 6 a.m.
