With People Moving People, its 28-photo exhibit, the TTC is proudly participating in the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival. The exhibit photos, the TTC’s first at the annual festival, showcase the TTC’s evolution through the decades all connected by the same driving force: connecting the people of Toronto with the places they want to go.

The curated collection, featuring recent and historical images from current and past TTC photographers through the decades, opens today and runs throughout May in the unpaid area leading into Bay Station and the hallway leading into Cumberland Terrace.

“We’re very proud to not only be hosting photos as part of the CONTACT Photography Festival but also, for the first time, showcasing some of our best work,” said TTC Chair Jaye Robinson. “This exhibit showcases that while our growing City continues to change over time, the TTC’s mission to keep people moving remains constant.”

The unique collection of photos was sourced from the Toronto Archives and the TTC’s Photography Services files.

CONTACT 2019 showcases an outstanding selection of Canadian and international lens-based artists. The Festival’s Core Exhibitions are comprised of collaborations with major museums, galleries and artist-run centres as well as site-specific public art projects. These are cultivated through partnerships and commissions, and frame the cultural, social and political events of our times.
