Christie Station - overnight generator use for electrical upgrades
Sunday, October 20 to Sunday, October 27
What we are doing and why?
As part of the Easier Access Program, the TTC will be installing elevators to make Christie Station accessible. In preparation for the future work, electrical power upgrades are required at the station.
In order to supply power to carry out this critical upgrade, a generator must run continuously (24 hours a day) from early morning on October 20 to October 27.
- Two generators will be on site for the duration of the work; only one will run continuously (24 hours a day). The second unit will be on site as a backup.
- The generators are scheduled to be delivered overnight on Thursday, October 17, 2019.
- The generator is a self-contained unit and is the quietest model for work in the city.
- The majority of work will take place inside Christie Station during typical work hours (7a.m. to 7p.m.).
Thank you for your patience as we work to make Christie Station accessible.
