King and Sumach streetcar intersection
Overnight track switch maintenance on July 5, 2018
Work description and purpose
TTC track staff will be conducting rail maintenance to the eastbound track switch on King Street just east of Sumach Street.
While efforts will be made to keep noise levels to a minimum during this overnight work, some noise will be unavoidable when certain equipment is in operation. In the event of inclement weather, maintenance will be rescheduled for another date.
The maintenance work will be performed overnight when traffic volumes are at their lowest and a safe work zone can be established. The work will begin soon after the last streetcar leaves Distillery Loop. The work zone will be cleared at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Traffic will be maintained through the King/Sumach intersection with some lane and turning restrictions through the work zone.
Other work and TTC service – December 8th weekend
TTC has also planned multiple rail and overhead maintenance work along the King Street route during this weekend period requiring temporary changes to the 504 King streetcar service.
