King and Sumach streetcar intersection - streetcar overhead wire maintenance
Monday, July 5 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Work description and purpose
On the evening of Monday, July 5, streetcars on the 504A King route will be replaced with buses to accommodate overhead wire maintenance at King/Sumach and a rail repair at King/Church.
To complete this overhead work safely and with minimal impact to traffic, the overhead wiring work will be conducted from 10 p.m. on July 5 to 4 a.m. on July 6 (one night scheduled).
On average, two to three TTC overhead trucks with hydraulic equipment will be used to carry out this work. While efforts will be made by the crew to keep noise to a minimum, beeping sounds when the trucks are backing up will be audible. Equipment lights may also be noticeable.
Traffic will be maintained through the area with lane restrictions.
TTC service – 10 p.m. July 5 to 4 a.m. July 6
504A King streetcars will be replaced with buses and operate between Dufferin Gate Loop and Distillery Loop.
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve transit in Toronto.
