Construction starting at Yorkdale Station

Project timeline: February 13, 2018 to Summer 2020

Work description

Construction to make Yorkdale Station accessible will begin this month and continue until summer 2020. Work will include installation of a new elevator, accessible fare gates, redesign of the main entrance with a glass canopy and sheltered bike parking.

TTC service

The station will remain open at all times however there will be a “no-parking” restriction in front of the main entrance. Temporary stopping will be permitted however due to the construction activity there will be limited space. Customers are encouraged to use the Ranee Avenue entrance (PRESTO only) if they are being picked up or dropped off. The entrance is located immediately south of Yorkdale Road.

Work hours

The majority of the work will be completed between Monday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


Pre-construction Open House - October 18, 2017

On October 18, 2017, TTC hosted an open house to share details about upgrades that are planned for Yorkdale Station. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2018 and be completed by mid-2020. The upgraded station will include a new elevator, improved lighting, signage and a redesign of the main entrance with glass canopy. The station will also feature new sheltered bike parking and full PRESTO access. Further details are available on the project site or by subscribing for regular updates.
