Annual yuletide toy drive aims to stuff six TTC buses
November 30, 2011
On December 3 and 4, 2011, TTC employees will be holding the annual Stuff-the-Bus toy drive at participating Walmart stores across Toronto. This year, a total of six of the TTC’s 40-foot buses will be set up as drop-off stops for new, unwrapped toys, which will be donated to the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness.
The Stuff-the-Bus weekend toy drive officially kicks off on Q107’s Derringer in the Morning, from 5:30 to 10 a.m. on Friday, December 2. A TTC bus will be parked outside the Corus Quay Building at 25 Dockside Dr. to accept donations. The bus will then be accepting donations in front of the Walmart store at Eglinton and Pharmacy from noon to 6 p.m.

Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4, from about 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
A TTC bus will be parked at each of these six Walmart stores:
- 300 Borough Drive (Scarborough Town Centre).
- 2245 Islington Avenue (Islington/Rexdale).
- 1900 Eglinton Avenue East (Pharmacy/Eglinton).
- 3850 Sheppard Avenue East (Agincourt Mall, Kennedy/Sheppard).
- 2525 St. Clair Avenue West (St. Clair/Runnymede).
- 5995 Steeles Avenue East (Steeles/Markham).
TTC employees have been conducting a Stuff-the-Bus toy drive during the holiday season for the last five years. This is a labour of love for TTC Operator Kevin Kane and his team of volunteer Operators. Last year’s drive gave a Christmas gift to more than 600 families with children. They hope to once again raise more than $50,000 worth of donations in 2011.
