Eastbound 509 Harbourfront replacement buses diverting via Lake Shore for Queens Quay revitalization
November 1, 2012
Beginning Monday, November 5 until spring 2013, Queens Quay will be closed to eastbound traffic from Bay Street to Lower Spadina Avenue due to the revitalization of Queens Quay. The road will remain open for one-way westbound-only traffic.
During this time, the 509 Harbourfront replacement bus will continue to operate westbound on Queens Quay to Exhibition Place. Eastbound buses will be diverted via Lake Shore Boulevard and Harbour Street.
The 509 Harbourfront replacement bus route details:
• From Exhibition loop, buses will run east on Fleet St. and then divert south to Fort York Blvd.and east to Lake Shore Blvd./Harbour St., serving stops at: Stadium Rd., Bathurst St., Dan Leckie Way, Lower Spadina Ave., Simcoe St., and Bay St. where buses will continue north to Union Station. Due to traffic operations on Lake Shore Blvd., it is not possible to have a transit stop at Rees St. Passengers in that area will be required to board the bus (one block away) at either Lower Spadina Ave. or at Simcoe St.
• Buses from Union Station to Exhibition loop will operate regular routing serving all westbound stops on Queens Quay.
Customers must have a transfer before boarding the 509 replacement bus service at Union Station, as well as to transfer to the subway at Union Station from the 509 replacement bus.
