TTC’s random testing program wins public sector safety award

The TTC’s commitment to public safety has been awarded the Ontario Safety League’s Award of Excellence for Public Safety for its recently implemented random drug and alcohol testing program for employees in safety-sensitive positions.

September 25, 2017 - The TTC is making it easier to explore Toronto’s Nuit Blanche arts festival this coming Saturday night/Sunday morning with all-night subway service on Lines 1 and 2, and extended-hours day and group passes.
- Benefits fraud update: TTC files suit against Manulife Financial; 170 employees dismissed to-date
September 21, 2017 - The TTC has filed a statement of claim in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against Manulife Financial for up to $5 million as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged benefits fraud scheme.
- TTC track and cable upgrades close portion of Line 2 this weekend
September 20, 2017 - This weekend, Sept. 23-24, TTC track and cable upgrades will close Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Kipling and Islington stations only.

September 13, 2017 - The installation of the TTC's modern fare gates with PRESTO continues this weekend at Dundas Station, resulting in the station closing and trains bypassing in both directions from 11 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 15 until the start of service on Mon., Sept. 18.
- TTC signal upgrades continue this weekend
September 12, 2017 - This weekend, Sept. 16-17, testing and emergency response training for the TTC’s new Automatic Train Control (ATC) system will require Line 1 Yonge-University to close between St George and Sheppard West (formerly Downsview) stations.
- New TTC fare gate construction begins at Dundas Station
September 8, 2017 - The installation of the TTC’s modern fare gates with PRESTO begins this Sunday, Sept. 10, at Dundas Station, resulting in early station closures nightly and a full closure the weekend of Sept. 15-17.
- TTC track work closes portion of Line 1 this weekend
September 7, 2017 - This weekend, Sept. 9-10, TTC crews will carry out essential track work in several locations on Line 1 that will require the closure of the portion of the line between Sheppard West and Lawrence West stations.

September 6, 2017 - The TTC today launched a bold campaign and mobile app as part of its commitment to combat harassment in all forms and enhance public safety while riding the TTC.
