TTC to host second vaccination clinic at Victoria Park Station
August 30, 2021
After successfully hosting COVID-19 vaccination clinics at two stations last week, the TTC has partnered with East Toronto Health Partners to offer another clinic from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. The clinic, which will be located in Victoria Park Station, is open to TTC customers, employees and members of the public.
From Aug. 24 to 26, the TTC held daily vaccination clinics at Main Street and Victoria Park stations. During those clinics, 635 vaccinations were administered, approximately half of which were first doses.
"I want to thank the TTC and East Toronto Health Partners for working together to offer more opportunities to get vaccinated at Victoria Park Station this week," said Mayor John Tory. "We want to make it as easy as possible for people who haven't been vaccinated yet to get their COVID-19 vaccine. We saw tremendous success in the TTC clinics last week providing first doses to around 50 per cent of the people who attended. We want to build on that success so more people across our city can get their first doses and then their second doses because we know fully vaccinated people are better protected against COVID-19 and much less likely to end up in hospital."
“We’ve seen that people are eager to take advantage of these opportunities to get vaccinated while travelling through TTC stations, and we’re happy to host another clinic for those who may not have been able to visit the last ones,” said TTC Chair Jaye Robinson.
“We’re really pleased that so many people got their vaccines during our recent clinics at Main Street and Victoria Park stations, and we look forward to continuing to host these events for our customers, employees, and the people of Toronto,” said TTC CEO Rick Leary. “Vaccines remain the best way for us to put this pandemic behind us, and I encourage everyone who hasn’t been vaccinated to take advantage of this opportunity.”
The clinic will be located in the mezzanine area of Victoria Park Station, and will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, while supplies last. People visiting the vaccine clinic who are not travelling on the TTC will not be required to pay a fare. First and second doses will be offered to everyone born in 2009 or earlier (turning 12 or older this year). No appointments will be required, and both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available.
Customers are encouraged to visit ttc.ca for additional information and to stay informed on any future TTC-hosted vaccination clinics.
