What we are doing and why

TTC will be rebuilding the existing underground utility chamber on the west side of Oak Park Avenue, just north of Danforth Avenue. The chamber, located on the west sidewalk, is part of a network in the city that provides access to electrical and communication cabling for TTC, as well as for other utility companies.

Activities will include minor roadway excavation to expose the utility chamber, rebuilding the concrete chamber and restoring the sidewalk/roadway. Equipment, materials and the work zone/traffic controls will remain onsite until the project is completed.

Work Zone

Beginning on July 17 at 7 a.m., crews will begin setting up a safe work zone and temporary traffic controls.

Traffic, parking and pedestrian details

  • Vehicle traffic on Oak Park Avenue will be maintained during this work.
  • Due to the location of the utility chamber, the west sidewalk will be closed. Pedestrians will be diverted around the work zone.
  • The work zone and traffic controls will remain in place until the completion of the project.

Work hours and timeline

Work will take place Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Efforts will be made to complete the work sooner by working Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., as required.

Thank you for your patience during this essential work.
