Davisville Yard Track & Structures building - roof rehabilitation
Starting as early as March 29, 2021
What we are doing and why
The TTC will be conducting roof repairs on the Track & Structure building within the Davisville Yard. There will be no impact to the main station or TTC service during this work.
What to expect
Starting the week of March 29, work crews will create a safe work zone within Davisville yard installing guard rails along the perimeter of the roof. Work is scheduled for completion by the end of July.
Once safe work is established, work activities will include the removal and installation of new roof flashings along the roof wall, removal of the old roof material and application of new roof material.
Materials deliveries from TTC’s roof supplier may be conducted between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. multiple times during the course of the project.
Dust and debris disposal
Dust will be controlled as much as possible. A fenced off area will be erected around material storage and disposal bins.
The method of liquid asphalt application (asphalt kettle) will be used in the first few weeks of this work and will emit a slight odor. This method helps prevent any water from entering the building when removing existing roof materials, acting as a membrane before the 3-ply roof membrane is installed.
Work will take place during regular daytime hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and may extend to 8 p.m., if needed. Work may also take place on Saturdays, as required.
