Parliament Street from Dundas Street to Queen Street - overhead infrastructure upgrades
July 7 to 26, 2021
What we are doing and why
Starting at early as July 7, TTC overhead crews will be working on the overhead infrastructure on Parliament Street between Dundas Street and Queen Street. This work is part of system wide upgrades for full pantograph operations for the new streetcars.
Crews will start just south of Dundas Street and work south towards Queen Street.
Work will be conducted daily between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
On average, two to three TTC overhead trucks with hydraulic equipment will be used to carry out this work. While efforts will be made by the crew to keep noise to a minimum, beeping sounds when the trucks are backing up will be audible. Equipment lights may also be noticeable.
Traffic will be maintained through the area with alternating lane restrictions. There will be times when crews work in the centre lanes and the curb lanes separately.
No changes to TTC service as part of this work.
Thank you for your patience as we work to upgrade the overhead infrastructure.
