Overnight Highway 7 Lane Restrictions from Jane Street to Edgeley Boulevard

Construction begins on Highway 7 this evening at 8:00 p.m. between Jane St and Edgeley Blvd. All eastbound lanes will be closed overnight and traffic will be diverted onto the westbound lanes. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be able to travel on Highway 7 but with reduced lanes. All lanes will reopen at 7:00 a.m. the morning of November 2nd. Paid duty officers will be on site to ensure safe traffic flow. Due to the nature of the work, motorists may face traffic delays.
Construction work this stage involves:
- Installation of construction fencing;
- Widening of Highway 7 to the south- side and narrowing of Highway 7 on the north-side;
- Painting of temporary road lines, median removal and paving.
Work Hours
- Work will begin tonight at 8:00 p.m. and all lanes will reopen at 7:00 a.m. the morning of November 2nd. The rain date for this work will be November 2nd – November 3rd.
- During the work, there may be construction related noise.
The City of Vaughan has approved a noise by-law amendment which allows the contractor to perform overnight and weekend work when required to minimize long term disruption and to keep the project on schedule.
Lane Restrictions
Eastbound Highway 7 will be closed from Jane St to Edgeley Blvd from 8 p.m. this evening reopening at 7:00 a.m. on November 2nd, 2011. Both directions of traffic will share the westbound lanes overnight. Paid duty officers will be on site to ensure safe traffic flow.
Transit Services for York Region and Brampton
YRT route #77 and Brampton Transit Züm #501 are currently operating along this part of Highway 7, and some delay may be experienced during this work due to the reduction in lanes.
Motorists
Additional signs may be posted to support construction so please use extra care when travelling on Highway 7 between Jane St and Edgeley Blvd. Highway 7 between Jane St and Interchange Way is now posted at a reduced speed limit.
Pedestrian Access/Walkways
Sidewalks will remain open on one side of Highway 7 to maintain pedestrian access during this portion of construction. Please take extra care while travelling near construction.
