Lane Restrictions on Steeles Avenue West - Steeles West Subway Station

November 3, 2011

Utility relocation and minor road works will begin November 7th and will result in intermittent lane restrictions in both directions on Steeles Avenue West from east of Murray Ross Parkway to west of Founders Road. These lane restrictions will be in place for approximately two months. Please be advised that two lanes will be maintained in both east and west bound direction at all times.

This work is in preparation for the station construction contract of the Steeles West Subway Station awarded to Walsh Construction Company, September 8, 2011, for the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension (TYSSE) project. Due to the construction, motorists may face traffic delays.

Transit Routes

Transit delays may be experienced during peak times on Steeles Avenue West.

Work Hours

Work will normally run between 7:00a.m to 7:00p.m, Monday to Friday. The City of Toronto has approved a noise by-law amendment which allows the project contractors to perform overnight and weekend work to minimize traffic disruptions and keep the project on schedule. These lane restrictions will be in effect during weekends as work will take place on Saturdays.

Your patience during this time is greatly appreciated.
