Steeles Avenue West One Lane Closed West of Keele Street on Friday, September 21, 2012

September 20, 2012

On Friday, September 21st, one westbound lane will be closed on Steeles Avenue West from Founders Road to Northwest Gate for pothole repairs.  Work will commence at 9:00 a.m. and be completed by 3:00 p.m. the same day. One lane will remain open westbound and two lanes will remain open eastbound at all times.

Pedestrian Access

The sidewalk on the south side of Steeles Avenue West remains open until the new sidewalk is completed and open on the north side.  Pedestrians please use the sidewalk on the south side of Steeles Avenue West.

Lane Restrictions & Construction Vehicle Access:

Traffic restrictions on Steeles Avenue West will continue and be modified to suit subway construction activities over the next three years. While driving through this construction zone, please use extra care and reduced speeds. Traffic movement will be reduced to ensure public safety and to allow for construction vehicles to access the site on both north and south sides of Steeles Avenue West.

Paid duty officers will be on Steeles Avenue West directing traffic during the lane restrictions. Please be advised that the speed limit has been reduced 50 kilometres per hour on Steeles Avenue West between Jane Street and Keele Street and will be enforced by the paid duty officers.
