New Sidewalk Opens on the North Side of Steeles Avenue West September 25th - South Sidewalk Closes between Founders Road and Murray Ross Parkway

September 24, 2012

A new sidewalk opens on September 25th on the north side of Steeles Avenue West from west of Founders Road to east of Murray Ross Parkway.  The sidewalk on the south side of Steeles Avenue West will close September 25th for subway station excavation until approximately April 2013.

Pedestrian Access

Pedestrians please use the sidewalk on the north side of Steeles Avenue West. Access to the north side of Steeles Avenue West is available at Founders Road or Murray Ross Parkway. Paid duty officers will be on Steeles Avenue West directing pedestrians at Founders Road and vehicular traffic at Northwest Gate.

Lane Restrictions & Construction Vehicle Access:

Traffic restrictions on Steeles Avenue West will continue and be modified to suit subway construction activities over the next three years. While driving through this construction zone, please use extra care and reduced speeds. Traffic movement will be reduced to ensure public safety and to allow for construction vehicles to access the site on both north and south sides of Steeles Avenue West.

Please be advised that the speed limit has been reduced on Steeles Avenue West between Jane Street and Keele Street to 50 kilometres an hour and will be strictly enforced by Toronto Police.
