York University – Decommissioning of Grout Shafts Adjacent to Schulich School of Business, Resumes November 15, 2013

Construction resumes November 15, 2013 at York University on the three grout shaft locations on the east and north sides of the Schulich School of Business. Compensation grouting is now complete and the three grout shafts will now be decommissioned. Decommissioning work involves breaking up of the concrete, removing a portion of the piles and backfilling the grout shafts. These works are expected to last six weeks or until December 20, 2013. Construction updates will be provided as required. A notice will be provided for the restoration stage, in advance of the work.

Noise and vibration

There will be typical construction related noise and vibrations as a result of the decommissioning work. During the demolition and compaction activities, occupants of the Schulich Building may experience some noise and vibration.

As construction continues at the York University Station Site, construction related notices will be issued.
