August 22, 2014

An overnight concrete pour has been scheduled for Monday, August 25, 2014 at the future York University Station. Overnight construction will take place beginning at 2:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Tuesday, August 26, 2014 a concrete pour is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. and finish by 3:00 p.m. During the work, there will be construction related noise from trucks and equipment. Permitted overnight work includes concrete pours. Please note that these dates are subject to change due to inclement weather. Work will take place in the Contractor Work Zone on the map below.

Concrete trucks will enter The Common on the transit detour road and continue to York Boulevard where there is a construction gate. Flagging personnel will be at this corner directing transit, pedestrian, and construction traffic from 2:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014.

 Work Hours

The City of Toronto normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. However, the City of Toronto has approved a noise by-law amendment for major transit projects which allows contractors to perform overnight and weekend work for the duration of the project, when required. Extended work hours are expected to occur within the hoarded construction site at York University until September 2014.

As construction continues at the York University Site, construction related notices will be issued.
