Large Concrete Pour at York University, September 26 & 27, 2015

September 24, 2015

A large concrete pour is scheduled for this weekend for the roof of the York University Station. This work will begin at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015 and will be completed at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015.

TTC, GO Transit and York University buses will be temporarily diverted and will exit the campus via Ian Macdonald Boulevard as a portion of York Boulevard will be closed to transit vehicles for the duration of the concrete pour.  Flagging personnel will assist in directing transit, pedestrian, and construction traffic. Paid Duty Officers will assist with pedestrian and traffic flow on The Pond Road and Ian Macdonald Boulevard on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Ian Macdonald Boulevard south of Vanier Lane will remain closed to vehicular traffic. The pedestrian path will remain open in this location and traffic flagging personnel will direct pedestrians.

Note: Due to the temporary bus diversion, increased traffic congestion may result in transit delays on The Pond Road, Ian Macdonald Boulevard, Sentinel Road and Keele Street. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

Work Hours

The City of Toronto normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. However, the City of Toronto has approved a noise by-law amendment for major transit projects which allows contractors to perform overnight and weekend work for the duration of the project, when required. Extended work hours are expected to occur within the hoarded construction site at York University until December 2015.

As construction continues at the York University Site, construction related notices will be issued.
