Transit Enforcement
Luisa Ospina
Luisa Ospina is a Fare Inspector in Revenue Protection. She joined the TTC a year ago because she wanted to work for a company with opportunities to advance her career and demonstrate her skillset in a diverse environment.
As a Transit Fare Inspector, Luisa makes sure customers understand the options they have to pay their fares and how to properly use the PRESTO machines in stations. She also looks out for and reports any customer issues, emergencies, disputes and damages to property. Luisa likes her job because she interacts with new people and learns about what makes Toronto unique.
Growing up, Luisa valued family responsibility, which she feels has helped her be responsible and empathetic in the workplace. Her family would celebrate a Novena de Aguinaldos, a Colombian Christmas tradition, where families would get together for nine consecutive nights to eat, sing carols and recite a set of prayers. Luisa credits traditions like these for making her the people person she is today, making her perfect for a customer-facing job.
Luisa’s advice to those entering the industry: “Be confident in yourself and stand strong in your decisions. The TTC values diversity in individuals coming from all backgrounds. There is a place for everyone to succeed. It starts with you.”
