Line 2 TTC subway track work Saturday; Emergency simulation Sunday
This Sat., June 13, the Toronto Transit Commission is undertaking scheduled subway track replacement on a section of Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) between Victoria Park and Kennedy stations.
Subway service will not operate between Victoria Park and Kennedy stations. A frequent replacement bus service will operate, stopping at Victoria Park, Warden and Kennedy stations.
The TTC will have Wheel-Trans buses available to accommodate customers who use wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility devices.
Regular subway service will resume on Sun., June 14 at 9 a.m.
On Sun., June 14, between 4:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., the Toronto Transit Commission will conduct an emergency exercise as part of its ongoing commitment to customer and employee safety. The exercise will take place at the TTC subway emergency exit on Line 2 at Birchmount Rd., north of Foxridge Dr. (near the rail line).
The scenario involves an emergency response to evacuate a train stopped between Warden and Kennedy stations. Non-toxic theatrical smoke will be used to simulate the emergency.
The exercise is NOT open to the media.
Regular Sunday subway service will begin at 9 a.m.
