TTC and Universal Music introduce ‘Tracks on Tracks’ exclusive Apple Music playlists for commuters
TTC customers can now listen to two new Apple Music commute-enhancing playlists featuring Universal Music artists such as Drake, OneRepublic, Shawn Mendes, Hedley, Alessia Cara, and many more.
Dubbed “Tracks on Tracks,” the new program includes two distinctive TTC-branded playlists – Rush Hour and Hush Hour. Each playlist contains more than 30 songs and two hours of music.
"We are always looking for ways to enhance the customer experience on the TTC and our ‘Tracks on Tracks’ playlists program with Universal Music and Apple Music does just that,” says TTC Chair Josh Colle. “These curated playlists featuring many prominent artists will bring more music to our city and our transit system."
Both playlists are designed to fit whichever vibe customers are looking for during their commute. Rush Hour is a collection of up tempo songs that will perk up the morning commute. Hush Hour is designed for a relaxing ride home at the end of the day.
“The TTC takes you where you are going and music transports you to another world,” states Universal Music Canada President & CEO Jeffrey Remedios. “It’s fantastic to be announcing a program built to help guide Toronto riders’ musical experience, reflecting the heartbeat and pulse of our city.“
This morning, following Colle’s and Remedios’s remarks at a Davisville Station launch, JUNO-nominated hitmaker Shawn Hook boarded a southbound TTC subway and performed a selection of songs live for morning commuters.
The playlists, which will be refreshed every Friday, are available exclusively on Apple Music. Users can stream these playlists on Apple Music or they can be downloaded for offline listening. Check them out at applemusic.com/hushhour and applemusic.com/rushhour.
