Statement from TTC CEO on mandatory vaccination policy
Today, the TTC released its new mandatory vaccination policy for all its employees, contractors and students. The policy can be found on the TTC website at www.ttc.ca/COVID19.
Safety is paramount in all we do at the TTC. Getting vaccinated remains one of the most important ways we can protect each other and our community. That is why we have made it mandatory for all our employees to have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as of Oct. 30.
As I said when I announced this initiative a few weeks ago, this is a necessary measure to protect the health of our employees. From the start of the pandemic, the TTC has been a leader in safety to help stop the spread of COVID-19, and we will continue to do everything we can to keep our community safe.
From the moment an employee steps onto TTC property, it is our duty to do everything in our power to ensure their safety.
The TTC's mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy is the right thing to do for everyone and is an important step for us as we work together to bring this pandemic to an end.
We will continue to work with employees and our union partners to address and resolve any questions and concerns.
