Take the TTC this long weekend


There are no scheduled subway closures on the TTC this long weekend. The TTC will also be operating on a holiday service schedule this Mon., Aug. 1. Customers can visit https://www.ttc.ca/routes-and-schedules/Service-details-and-holidays for more information and help planning their trip.

 

Toronto Caribbean Carnival

 

Customers attending the Toronto Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade this Sat., July 30, are encouraged to take the TTC to get to and from the event safely. The TTC has added additional service to accommodate those attending the Parade.

 

Those planning to attend the Parade on Saturday can take the following routes:

 

  • 29 Dufferin
  • 509 Harbourfront
  • 511 Bathurst
  • 504C King

 

The TTC has added extra service on these routes as well as Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth to make it as easy as possible to join the festivities. 

 

A dedicated Caribbean Carnival shuttle bus will also operate between Dufferin Station and Springhurst/Dufferin Gate Loop for the Parade. TTC personnel will be on site to help direct customers to the appropriate boarding locations.

 

Several bus and streetcar routes will also be diverting to accommodate road closures for the event, including:

 

  • 29 Dufferin will run directly to Springhurst/Dufferin Gate Loop from 6 a.m., Sat., July 30 to 2 a.m., Sun., July 31 via Dufferin St. Stops on King St. W., Strachan Ave., East Liberty St. and Liberty St. will not be served.
  • 63 Ossington between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. on Sat., July 30.
  • 80 Queensway between 2 a.m., Sat., July 30 – 6 a.m., Sun., July 31.
  • 504A/504B King between 6 a.m., Sat., July 30 and 2 a.m., Sun., July 31.
  • 504C King will be extended to King St. and Church St. between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. on Sat., July 30.
  • 510 Spadina between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sat., July 30.

Additional weekend diversions

 

It is a busy weekend in the city and additional TTC routes will be diverting to accommodate other planned events, including:

 

Those attending the Veld Music Festival can take Line 1 Yonge-University to Downsview Park Station to get to and from the event.

 

The 101 Downsview Park will be suspended between 11 a.m. on Fri., July 29 to 11:59 p.m. on Sun., July 31, to accommodate the Veld Music Festival. Customers may also experience delays on the 41 Keele, 84 Sheppard West, 106 Sentinel, 107 York University Heights, and 108 Driftwood due to the event. 

 

The 94 Wellesley will be diverting from 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sat., July 30, to accommodate a crane lift at Wellesley St. W. and Yonge St.
