This weekend on the TTC

Several events taking place in the city this weekend will result in adjustments to TTC service.

Honda Indy

Those planning to attend the Honda Indy this weekend should take the TTC to get to and from their destination safely. The TTC is increasing service on the 509 Harbourfront beginning today until Sunday night to make it even easier for people to take transit. Customers can also take the 29 Dufferin and 511 Bathurst routes to and from the festivities.

The 504B King, 504C King and 510 Spadina will be diverting on Sun., July 17, from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. to accommodate this event. Service is also suspended on the 174 Ontario Place-Exhibition this weekend, with regular service resuming on Mon., July 18.

Those travelling to Budweiser Stage this weekend using the 509 Harbourfront or the 511 Bathurst must exit the streetcar at Strachan Ave., and head south-west to their destination. This is due to road closures for the Honda Indy. Staff will be on hand to help direct customers on the street and streetcar operators will be making announcements to let customers know when to exit the vehicle for Budweiser Stage.

Additional weekend diversions

From 7 p.m. on Fri., July 15 - 7 a.m. on Mon., July 18, the 102D Markham Rd. route will be diverting to accommodate York-Durham sewage work.

The 300 Bloor-Danforth will be diverting between 8 a.m. on Sat., July 16 and 3 a.m. on Mon., July 18, to accommodate BIG on Bloor.

The 39A Finch East, 132 Milner and 133 Neilson will be diverting from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Sat., July 16 to accommodate the Kiddies for Mas Junior Carnival Parade.

On Sat., July 16, customers may experience delays on the 19 Bay, 72 Pape, 94 Wellesley, 121 Esplanade-River, 172 Cherry Beach, 501 Queen, 504 King, 505 Dundas, and 506 Carlton due to the Festival of India Parade.

Next Week: Monday – Wednesday

Mon., July 18 through Wed., July 20, subway service on the portion of Line 1 between St Clair and College stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. to accommodate track work. Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route.

TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station.

Summerhill Station will be closed. All other stations will remain open for people to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.

At Wellesley Station, the automatic entrances/exits at 17 Dundonald St. will be closed. Customers should use the main entrance/exit at the station.

As College Station is not yet accessible, customers travelling northbound on Line 1 who require an accessible connection should exit the train at Dundas Station and see any TTC customer service employee for assistance.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work as well as ATC signal upgrades.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that affect service and about alternate routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for e-Alerts.
