TTC to hold annual Public Forum on Accessible Transit tomorrow

Tomorrow, Thurs., Sept. 22, the TTC will hold its virtual Public Forum on Accessible Transit. The annual event provides an opportunity for customers to discuss the accessibility of conventional TTC and door-to-door (Wheel-Trans) services in Toronto.

Participants will receive updates from staff on recent accessibility initiatives and plans for the continued improvement of transit in Toronto, including the Wheel-Trans 10-year Strategy, Family of Services, and Easier Access project.

“Accessibility is a major focus for the TTC,” said TTC CEO Rick Leary. “This forum allows us to hear directly from those who use our Wheel-Trans service regularly, and update them on the progress that we continue to make towards a barrier-free transit system. The feedback gathered from this event will help inform our plans as we continue to work toward a fully accessible transit system."

Participants will have the opportunity to address TTC staff and members of the TTC's Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit (ACAT) as well as ask questions and raise concerns around TTC accessibility and Wheel-Trans services.
