Take the TTC to explore Toronto this weekend


Events and festivals happening across the city make this an ideal weekend to explore Toronto, and taking the TTC is the best way to experience all the action.

 

With no scheduled subway closures, and bus and streetcar route adjustments to accommodate events, the TTC is the fastest and most convenient way to get there.

 

Events and festivals

 

The annual Taste of Little Italy begins tomorrow, Fri. June 16 and the 506 Carlton will take customers to the three-day food festival, with stops at College and Bathurst streets, and College St and Ossington Ave. The 506/306 Carlton will divert along Dundas St. W. between Bathurst St and Ossington Ave. from Fri., June 16 at 12 p.m., until Mon., June 19 at 3 a.m. to accommodate the event.

 

The 102D Markham Rd. will be diverting to accommodate road closures for the Markham Village Music Festival from Fri., June 16, at 2 p.m., to Sun., June 18 at 12 a.m.

 

On Sat., June 17, from 4 – 11:30 a.m., the 80 Queensway will divert to accommodate the Under Armour 10K.

 

On Sun., June 18, the Yorkville Exotic Car Show will be held on Bloor St W., from Avenue Rd to Bay St. Customers can take Line 2 to Bay Station to get to the event, while the 300 Bloor-Danforth will divert from 5:30 – 8 a.m.

 

Also on Sun., June 18, from 6 a.m. – 3 p.m., the 13 Avenue Road and 94 Wellesley will divert for the Journey to Conquer Cancer. Customers on 506 Carlton may experience delays during the event.

 

Road closures and construction

 

The TTC will also adjust some routes to accommodate road closures for construction, and for streetcar track work this weekend.

 

On Fri., June 16, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., the 75 Sherbourne will divert due to road closures on Lower Sherbourne St and The Esplanade.

 

Also from Fri., June 16, at 11 p.m., to 4 a.m. on Mon., June 19, buses will replace the 510/310 Spadina between Spadina Station and Queens Quay Loop, due to streetcar tunnel and track maintenance.

 

The 94 Wellesley will divert from 7 a.m. on Sat. June 17 to 3 p.m. on Sun., June 18, due to streetcar track work on Spadina Ave, affecting eastbound service on Harbord St.

 

And, the 121 Esplanade-River will divert on Sun., June 18, from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., between Cherry and Trinity streets, due to a road closure.
