Upcoming subway closures and Thanksgiving holiday service
Subway closures
Early Friday and full day Saturday closures – Spadina to St Andrew
Subway service on the University side of Line 1 Yonge-University, between Spadina and St Andrew stations, will end tonight, Fri., Oct. 6, at 11:59 p.m. due to track work. Shuttle buses will run until the end of scheduled evening service.
On Sat., Oct. 7, there will also be no subway service between Spadina and St Andrew stations due to track work. Shuttle buses will not operate on Saturday, as construction and expected traffic congestion along University Ave. would cause significant delays for customers. Instead, the TTC is increasing service on all downtown surface routes.
For downtown travel on Saturday, customers have many convenient options:
- Customers on the University side of Line 1 can take a 510 Spadina streetcar from Spadina Station, and transfer to connecting eastbound services at College St. (506 Carlton streetcar), Dundas St. (505 Dundas streetcar), Queen St. (501 Queen replacement bus), or King St. (504 King).
- Customers on the Yonge side of Line 1 can connect to westbound services at Wellesley Station (94 Wellesley), College Station (506 Carlton streetcar), Dundas Station (505 Dundas streetcar), Queen Station (501B Queen on Church St.), or King Station (504 King).
Museum, Queens Park and St Patrick stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.
Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
Sunday late open – King to Osgoode
This Sun., Oct. 8 only, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University, between King and Osgoode stations will begin by 11 a.m. due to track work.
Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.
All stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.
Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
Other service adjustments
Starting at 11 p.m. Fri., Oct. 6, until 4 a.m. Mon., Oct. 9, the TTC will be conducting streetcar infrastructure maintenance on a section of Bathurst St., between King St. W. and Queen St. W.
511 Bathurst streetcars will divert both ways along Queen St. W, Spadina Ave., and King St. W. A replacement bus service will operate along Bathurst St., between Wolseley Loop and Fleet St.
