Upcoming subway closures and service diversions

Subway closures

This Sat., Oct. 28 only, there will be no subway service on the University side of Line 1 Yonge-University, between St George and St Andrew stations, due to track work.

Shuttle buses will not operate, as construction and expected traffic congestion along University Ave. would cause significant delays for customers. Instead, the TTC is increasing service on downtown surface routes.

For downtown travel on Saturday, customers have many convenient options:

  • Customers on the University side of Line 1 can take a 510 Spadina streetcar from Spadina Station, and transfer to connecting eastbound services at College St. (506 Carlton streetcar), Dundas St. (505 Dundas streetcar), Queen St. (501 Queen replacement bus), or King St. (504 King).

  • Customers on the Yonge side of Line 1 can connect to westbound services at Wellesley Station (94 Wellesley), College Station (506 Carlton streetcar), Dundas Station (505 Dundas streetcar), Queen Station (501B Queen on Church St.), or King Station (504 King).

Museum, Queens Park and St Patrick stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Sunday late open – St George to Broadview

Sun., Oct. 29 only, subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, between St George and Broadview stations will start by 10 a.m. to accommodate beam replacement work on the Prince Edward Viaduct.

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

Sherbourne station will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

For those attending Halloween Fest at Bay Lower Station, the TTC will be operating special express shuttles to Bay Station from Broadview and St George stations. At Broadview station, signs will direct customers to boarding and offloading locations on Danforth Ave. At St. George Station, Halloween Fest Express buses will operate from the bus bay.

Monday to Thursday – Line 1 early closure – Sheppard-Yonge to Eglinton

Mon., Oct. 30, through Thurs., Nov. 2, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Sheppard-Yonge and Eglinton stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. due to track work.

Shuttle buses will run, and TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

All subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
