Upcoming subway closures and weekend service adjustments


Subway closures

 

Line 2 – Warden to Kennedy – weekend closure

 

Starting at 11 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 15, until 6 a.m. Mon., Sept. 18, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2, between Warden and Kennedy stations, due to track work.

 

Shuttle buses will run both ways, stopping at Warden and Kennedy stations, and extending to Scarborough Centre Station. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations. All stations will remain open for people to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.

 

Warden Station is not accessible. Customers travelling eastbound who require an accessible connection should exit the train at Victoria Park Station and speak to a TTC customer service staff member for assistance. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak to any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

 

Line 4 – Sunday late open

 

This Sun., Sept. 17 only, subway service on Line 4 Sheppard will begin by 11 a.m. to accommodate an early morning subway emergency simulation, which will test the effectiveness of emergency response and evacuation procedures.

 

Shuttle buses will operate. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations. Until 11 a.m., customers who wish to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes should be aware of the following changes:

 

  • Bessarian Station will be closed

     

  • At Bayview Station, the Kenaston Gardens automated entrance will be closed

     

  • At Leslie Station, the east automated entrance will be closed

     

  • At Don Mills Stations, the north and south station entrances off Sheppard Ave. E. will be closed.

 

Line 1 – St Clair West to Sheppard West – early weekday closures

 

Mon., Sept. 18, through Thurs., Sept. 21, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St Clair West and Sheppard West stations, will end nightly at 11 p.m. due to track work.

 

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

 

Yorkdale and Glencairn stations will be closed during this time. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.

 

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

 

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.

 

Weekend events

 

Ukrainian Festival

 

Those attending the Ukrainian Festival can take the subway, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, to Runnymede or Jane Station. The following TTC services will divert to accommodate road closures from 9 a.m. on Fri., Sept. 15, until midnight on Sun., Sept. 17:

 

  • 26 Dupont

     

  • 35 Jane

     

  • 55 Warren Park

     

  • 935 Jane Express

     

  • 300 Bloor-Danforth Night Bus

 

Roncesvalles Polish Festival

 

For the Roncesvalles Polish festival, customers can take the subway, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, to Dundas West Station, or the 504 King B streetcar to Roncesvalles Ave. The following TTC services will divert to accommodate road closures between 5 a.m. Sat. Sept. 16, and midnight Sun., Sept. 17:

 

  • 504A King streetcar

     

  • 504 King replacement bus

     

  • 304 King replacement night bus

 

Pape Avenue Block Party

 

The best way to the Pape Avenue Block Party is on the subway, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, to Pape Station and transfer to any northbound bus. Several bus routes will divert from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m., on Sat. Sept. 16:

 

  • 25 Don Mills

     

  • 81 Thorncliff Park

     

  • 87 Cosburn

     

  • 100 Flemminton Park

     

  • 925 Don Mills Express

 

Other service adjustments

 

Due to work by Toronto Water, the 29 Dufferin and 925 Dufferin Express will not service Springhurst Loop between 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. each day on Fri., Sept. 15, and daily on Mon., Sept. 18 to Fri., Sept. 22. Southbound, buses will divert from Dufferin St., east along King St. W., south on Strachan Ave., west on E. Liberty St. Buses will service stops northbound on Dufferin St. from E. Liberty St.
