Weekend service adjustments and upcoming early nightly subway closures

There are no scheduled subway closures this weekend and with plenty of transit options, the TTC is the fastest, most convenient, and eco-friendly way to get to and from all the events and attractions across Toronto.

From Saturday evening until Sunday morning, several TTC services will be extended to run all night for Nuit Blanche. For complete details of Nuit Blanche service adjustments customers are encouraged to visit: https://www.ttc.ca/riding-the-ttc/Updates/Nuit-Blanche-service-adjustments.

The TTC is also advising customers of several weekend service adjustments to accommodate events and construction, and early nightly subway closures in the coming week to enable track work on a portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth.

Events

  • Between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 6, the 7 Bathurst and 307 Bathurst Night will divert to accommodate road closures for the CIBC Run for the Cure. Southbound buses will redirect from Bathurst St. and run along St. Clair. Ave. W., Oakwood Ave. and Davenport Rd. Northbound buses will operate via Dupont St., Avenue Rd., and St. Clair Ave. W. 33 Forest Hill, 126 Christie, and 127 Davenport will also divert.

  • Between 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 6, 13 Avenue Road will adjust service to accommodate the Ontario Fallen Firefighters Memorial ceremony at Queen’s Park. Buses will redirect from Avenue Rd. at Bloor St. W. and run to St George Station.

Construction

  • On Sat., Oct. 5 between 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., there will be a temporary route diversion for 65 Parliament and 365 Parliament Night buses to accommodate construction work. Instead of their usual looping on Dockside Dr., buses will run along Lake Shore Blvd. E. via Richardson St. and Lower Sherbourne St.

  • From Sun., Oct. 6, until Tues., Oct. 15, the TTC will be conducting streetcar track work on Queen St. at York St., Parliament St., and Don Valley Parkway. Several streetcar and bus routes will be adjusted to accommodate the work. These include 501 Queen and 301 Queen Night, 503 Kingston Road and 303 Kingston Road Night, and, 504B King and 304 King Night. Bus replacements will run. For detailed information about the route adjustments, including maps, customers are encouraged to visit: https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/Streetcar-Service-Changes.

Monday to Friday – Early nightly subway closures between Victoria Park and Kennedy stations

Mon., Oct. 7 through Fri., Oct. 11, subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Victoria Park and Kennedy stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. to accommodate track work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

All subway stations will be open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.

Reduced subway speed zones

The TTC is advising customers travelling on several portions of Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth of reduced speed zones, which may result in longer than normal travel times along certain sections of the subway.

As a safety precaution, the TTC reduces speed along sections of rail where maintenance is required, allowing trains to run safely during service hours while minimizing disruptions to customers. They also protect workers who may be required at track level to conduct routine or emergency inspections.

Customers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider the additional time they may need for their trips. A complete list of current reduced speed zones can be found on the TTC website at: https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service/Reduced-Speed-Zones.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service, as well as alternate route options. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on X or sign up for eAlerts.
