Upcoming subway closures and service adjustments
Starting at 11 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 28, and throughout this weekend, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Bloor-Yonge and Osgoode stations to accommodate planned track work as part of the TTC’s state-of-good-repair program.
Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers can also connect to downtown stations on the University side of Line 1 via southbound subway service at St George and Spadina stations. The TTC is increasing service on downtown surface routes to ensure customers have additional convenient transit options in place of subway service.
For downtown travel from the University side of Line 1, customers can transfer to connecting eastbound services at Queen’s Park Station (506 Carlton streetcar), St Patrick Station (505 Dundas streetcar), or Osgoode Station (501 Queen).
On the Yonge side of Line 1, customers can connect to westbound services at Wellesley Station (94 Wellesley), College Station (506 Carlton streetcar), Dundas Station (505 Dundas streetcar), Queen Station (501 Queen on Church St.), or King Station (504 King streetcar).
College Station and Dundas Station will be closed. All other subway stations will be open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.
Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance. Extra Wheel-Trans vehicles will be available in the downtown core for any customer who requires an accessible connection at a station that may not be accessible.
Regular subway service will resume on Mon., Mar. 3.
Monday to Thursday – Early nightly subway closures between Bloor-Yonge and Osgoode stations
From Mon., Mar. 3 through Thurs., Mar. 6, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Bloor-Yonge and Osgoode stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. to accommodate planned track work.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
College Station will be closed during this time. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
Streetcar service adjustments
- Until 4 a.m. on Wed., Mar. 5, the 501/301 Queen and 503/303 Kingston Road routes are diverting to accommodate Metrolinx construction at Queen St. E. and De Grassi St. Streetcars are redirecting from Queen St. E., running both ways along Gerrard St. E. between Coxwell Ave. and Broadview Ave. Replacement buses are running along Queen St. E., however they are diverting around the construction area using Carlaw Ave., Dundas St. E, and Broadview Ave.
The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service, as well as alternate route options. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on X or sign up for eAlerts.
