TTC subway closures this weekend for state-of-good-repair track work, station upgrades, and transit expansion
The TTC is advising customers of subway closures on Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth this weekend to accommodate state-of-good-repair track work, station upgrades, and transit expansion.
Weekend subway closure on Line 2 between Woodbine and Kennedy stations starting Friday at 11 p.m.
Starting at 11 p.m. on Fri., Mar. 7, and throughout the weekend on Sat., Mar. 8 and Sun., Mar. 9, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Woodbine and Kennedy stations to accommodate work at track level, including the installation of technology for future 5G connectivity in the subway tunnels, and Metrolinx construction of the Scarborough Subway Extension.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the shuttle route. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
Warden Station will be closed. All other subway stations will be open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.
Line 1 Yonge-University – weekend closure between St George and St Andrew stations
This Sat., Mar. 8 and Sun., Mar. 9, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St George and St Andrew stations to accommodate planned track work and station upgrades.
While shuttle buses will not operate, the TTC is increasing service on downtown surface routes to ensure customers have frequent, reliable transit options. For downtown travel from the Yonge side of Line 1, customers can transfer to connecting westbound services at Wellesley Station (94 Wellesley), College Station (506 Carlton streetcar), Dundas Station (505 Dundas streetcar), Queen Station (501 Queen on Church St.), or King Station (504 King streetcar).
Museum, Queen’s Park and St Patrick stations will be closed for station upgrades. All other subway stations will be open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.
Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance. Extra Wheel-Trans vehicles will be available in the downtown core for any customer who requires an accessible connection.
Monday to Friday – Early nightly subway closures between St Clair and Finch stations
From Mon., Mar. 10 through Fri., Mar. 14, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St Clair and Finch stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. to accommodate planned track work, the installation of technology for future 5G connectivity in the subway tunnels, and tunnel maintenance.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
Lawrence and North York Centre stations will be closed during this time. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service, as well as alternate route options. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on X or sign up for eAlerts.
