Back to school

The new school year is here and we’re happy to welcome students, parents and teachers back to the TTC.

Trips to and from post-secondary, secondary and elementary schools will be restored as of Tuesday, September 3, 2024. For the complete list, visit our School routes page.

Children 12 and under ride the TTC for free! All other students must pay their youth fare or buy a monthly pass. For more information on youth fares, visit our Student fares, passes and photo IDs page.

NEW – Free Transit for Field Trips Pilot
In partnership with the Toronto District School Board, Toronto Catholic District School Board, and French public and Catholic school boards, we’re implementing a pilot for free transit for grades 7-12 student field trips for the 2024-2025 school year.

Through this pilot, teachers will be able to take their grade 7-12 students on the TTC for free on Mondays and Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. To be eligible, travel must be within the defined parameters based on group size. Read more on our project page.
