Streetcar Service Changes

There is currently one service change on this route.

Effective: 4 am, November 10, 2024

501/301 Queen streetcars will begin using new streetcar tracks on Adelaide, Richmond and York streets, starting November 10, as part of a route change that will end the need for 501B/301B Queen replacement buses and improve service along this route.

The new tracks also create additional streetcar diversion options in the downtown core for unplanned service changes, events such as the Toronto International Film Festival, and planned streetcar infrastructure work.

New 501/301 Queen route change:

501/301 Queen streetcars will continue to divert around the Ontario Line construction between Queen and Victoria streets, but will now travel:

Westbound: via Queen Street East, south on Church Street, west on Richmond Street East and West, north on York Street, to route.

Eastbound: via Queen Street West, south on York Street, east on Adelaide Street East and West, north on Church Street, to route.

This diversion provides customers with an uninterrupted streetcar connection to both sides of Line 1 at Osgoode and Queen stations, as well as King Station and across the downtown core. 

There is currently one service change on this route.

Please note: Effective from June 22 until July 12 at 4 a.m., there will be temporary route changes to 503/303 Kingston Road streetcars due to streetcar infrastructure work. 

503/303 Kingston Road streetcars will divert around the various closures as follows: 

• Westbound streetcars: From Queen Street East and River Street via west on Queen Street East, south on Church Street, west on Richmond Street, north on York Street, west on Queen Street West, south on Shaw Street, west on King Street West, and south on Dufferin Street to Dufferin Gate Loop 
• Eastbound streetcars: From Dufferin Gate Loop via north on Dufferin Street, east on King Street West, north on Shaw Street, east on Queen Street West, south on York Street, east on Adelaide Street, north on Church Street and east on Queen Street East.

Please note: Effective from June 22 until July 12 at 4 a.m., there will be temporary route changes to 504D and 304D King replacement buses and 504/304 King streetcars due to streetcar infrastructure work.

504/304 King replacement buses 

504D and 304D King replacement buses will be extended to operate between Dufferin Gate Loop and Gerrard Street and Broadview Avenue and divert via Jarvis Street, Wellington Street/Front Street, and Yonge Street.  

504C King replacement buses will continue to operate between King and Bathurst streets and Front and Cherry streets and divert via Jarvis Street, Wellington Street/Front Street, and Yonge Street.

Please note: The Distillery Loop will be closed to all streetcars and buses until further notice.

504/304 King streetcars 

504/304 King streetcars will divert around the various closures as follows:

• Westbound streetcars: From Queen Street East and River Street via west on Queen Street East, south on Church Street, west on Richmond Street, north on York Street, west on Queen Street West, south on Shaw Street, and west on King Street West to Roncesvalles Avenue.
• Eastbound streetcars: From Roncesvalles Avenue via east on King Street West, north on Shaw Street, east on Queen Street West, south on York Street, east on Adelaide Street, north on Church Street and east on Queen Street East.

Effective Sunday, June 22, 509 Harbourfront replacement bus service will end, and streetcars will return to the route between Union Station and Exhibition Loop. Thank you for your patience.
