Finch Station - Bus Terminal Improvements

 What we are doing and why?

From October 2023 to October 2024, construction crews at Finch Station will be making improvements to the bus platform. This requires work such as widening the bus bay to allow the deployment of bus ramps to serve articulated buses and extending bus bays to accommodate the longer articulated buses. During construction, the bus bays for bus routes 39 Finch East, 125 Drewry Eastbound, and 97 Yonge Northbound will be taken out of service. These routes will still be available from the bus loop but from different bus bays (see image below).

What to expect

Crews at Finch Station will be making improvements to the bus platform. This requires work, such as:

• Widening the bus bay to allow the deployment of bus ramps to serve articulated buses.
• Extending bus bays to accommodate the longer articulated buses.

Traffic, pedestrian and cyclist restrictions

• During construction, bus bays will be taken out of service.
• “Out of Service” signs will be installed; Customers will continue to board buses in the bus loop. Wayfinding signage will be in place.

Noise, vibration and Work Hours

Noise, dust and vibration associated with construction can be expected with this work. Efforts will be made to keep levels to a minimum.

The majority of the work will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and on Saturday after 9 a.m., with work after hours and on Sunday after 9 a.m. if required. As permitted, some overnight work will be required during the course of this project for safety and efficiency.
