Inglis Building Roof Rehabilitation at Hillcrest Complex (1138 Bathurst Street)

Effective October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025

*Subject to weather and unforeseen events, content / timeline is accurate at the time of communication.

What we are doing and why:

The TTC is working on a new project to rehabilitate the roof of the Inglis Building, one of the buildings within the Hillcrest Complex. This construction project involves removing and replacing the existing roof, skylights, rainwater drains, walkways, and fire escape guardrails and stairs. All of the work will be on the roof of the Inglis Building, or within the Hillcrest property.

The existing roof has passed its life expectancy, and doing this work now will prevent future deterioration that could result in water leakage inside the Inglis Building and ultimately damage the building structure and TTC equipment.

What to expect:

  • The construction laydown area will be in the Hydro One Networks Inc. (HONI) lands directly south of the Inglis Building (informally used as parking). TTC has leased the necessary area from HONI.
  • A temporary overhead protection will be installed over the sidewalk on the west side of Bathurst Street along the Inglis Building; this will not impact north-south pedestrian access in this area.
  • Some noise related to this project is expected.

Work Hours

Work will typically occur Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some work on weekends and overnight may be required, and details will be communicated.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience.
