Hillcrest Complex Upgrades - Construction Commencement
Effective starting as early asFebruary 27, 2025until approximately2029
* Accurate at the time of this communication and is subject to changes due to unforeseen circumstances.
What we are doing and why:
To enhance service, TTC is receiving 60 new streetcars. Twenty-five of the 60 will be stored and maintained at the Hillcrest Complex. TTC will be extensively upgrading the Harvey Shops Building and its surroundings to accommodate these new streetcars. In addition, TTC will complete state-of-good repair maintenance works and improve the public realm near the Davenport Road and Bathurst Street intersection
What to expect:
Intermittent noise, dust, and vibration associated with construction are expected. Mitigation measures will be in place.
Construction vehicles will primarily use the existing main entrance/exit at Bathurst Street.
Construction work, including the contractor’s trailer and laydown area will be inside the Hillcrest Complex.
Work Hours
The majority of work will take place Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. As permitted, some overnight and weekend work will be required during the project, such as concrete work during the new streetcar track installation. The noisiest work (excavation) will be completed as much as possible during regular work hours.
