Spadina Station - Extended Work Hours

What we are doing and why
As part of the TTC’s Easier Access Project to make Spadina Station (Line 1) accessible to everyone, work is underway inside Spadina Station (Line 1) and at street level at Spadina Road and Lowther Avenue.
Phase 1 construction work is underway to install the southbound elevator (Elevator 2 or E2) underneath Lowther Avenue on the west side of Spadina Road. As part of this work, crews will be working Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. from early as August 6 to mid-September* to make minor modifications to the subway platform walls within the excavated area. This involves chipping, saw cutting, and other methods/tools necessary to modify the concrete walls.
What to expect
- Noise and vibration is expected during these hours.
- Construction crew and machine/equipment operation is expected on the site earlier in the morning and later at night than normal.
- Disruption to the subway, streetcar, or bus services at Spadina Station Lines 1 and 2 is not expected for this work.
Work hours
Work will typically take place Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some work on weekends and overnight may be required. Weather conditions may affect the progress of this work. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience.
TTC service
Subway and bus service will be maintained throughout construction with the exception of the bus stop(s) at Spadina Road and Lowther Avenue that will be out of service at various points during construction and bus route diversion during the nightly closure.
